12/26/2020 Fonts On A Mac For Adobe
Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. To access files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, use the methods in How to access hidden user library files. Make sure that your fonts are located in only one font folder. Purchase downloadable Adobe Type fonts for commercial use from best online collection. Try fonts from selection of high quality & professional desktop and web fonts. I have quit Adobe Acrobat Pro DC many times and it has not worked. The font is installed in my Windows system (i use it in Word) but Adobe does not recognize it.

When opening an Adobe Acrobat PDF document on Mac OS X Lion to edit in Adobe Illustrator CS6, I got the message:
The font Helvetica-Narrow-Bold is missing. Affected text will be displayed using a substitute font. The font QuickTypePi is missing. Affected text will be displayed using a substitute font.
How can I provide the missing fonts so that no substitution occurs and upon return to Adobe Acrobat Pro X the original fonts will remain after any edits in Illustrator?
Or, since the message talks about their display, will the font remain unchanged upon return to Adobe Acrobat?

Update:The fonts will remain the same when you open it in Adobe Reader, since the font files are normally embedded in the PDF itself.
Update 2:
I'm attaching the screenshots, of the error msg your getting but will not make any changes to you PDF file if you quit (Assuming you did not edit anything in Illustrator) Adobe products list for mac.

I am mocking up a Mac App interface on El Capitan and would like to use the San Francisco system font. However the San Francisco font doesn't appear in Photoshop's font menu. Is there a way to access the system fonts in Photoshop?

It seems that Apple has intentionally locked down the default system font.
However you can download a development version of the font which you can install in addition to the system version. https://colorsnew430.weebly.com/blog/latest-adobe-acrobat-reader-dc-for-mac. It has tight licensing restrictions, mockups only, but that's all I needed it for, so this solution worked well for me.
